Done Right?

Published by mamanet16 at 8:33 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Well according to my 19, soon to be 20 year old, not.  I just got a 7:00 am phone call about all I have done wrong in his life. 19 years worth of things done wrong. Now there is a wake up call. Everyone makes choices and when it is a teenager, we, as parents, are supposedly responsible.  Not to matter if as that parent you called police, drove around all areas of town looking for him, visited  juvey every single time there was visitation and then the rehab center visitation and counseling. Family counseling, lol, where basically you are there to be told of all the things you have done wrong and why your kid feels like you screwed him up.  Not to matter that in the last 5 years you sat up waiting, left work, picked him up from jail, etc etc etc. But no that doesn’t come up too often. Just the times you had to work, not that it was for paying the bills and supporting the ungrateful brat. Never is it mentioned the years I went without new clothes, medical care and medicine, and some days good food. After 19 years isn’t it time to own up to your own choices? I know I am whining but darn it I tried my best and fell short. Does he really think that I don’t reflect on where I went wrong? Could I have done it this way or that way? Would there have been a difference?
