My baby had surgery!!

Published by mamanet16 at 3:02 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Ok she had her tonsils out. Yep that’s it. I know it sounds so simple and everyone says oh that’s nothing they do that all the time.  But my poor little baby (she’s 2 1/2), to see her laying on that hospital bed. It was pathetic. Although she did wonderfuly and did not cry at all.  My tough little warrior. It’s hard,as a parent, to watch your kid be rolled off into a sterile room by masked people. Then we waited and waited and waited some more.  Just waiting for the nurse or someone to come out and say ok she did great and is doing fine.  But no we waited. Then they sent us to a little room to wait and talk to the doctor. And we waited some more.  Then he shows up and everything is fine. Ok good.. Where’s my baby? she will be sent to a room on the pediatric floor when she wakes up and they have a room available.  Ok great. Finally they send us to the room and there she is laying in the little crib, sound asleep with an IV.  So I kiss her and …..she swats me away and says “leave me alone”. Great another day in my life!

Well, at least you know she was ok! If not, she wouldn’t be swatting or talking, right? :)

I don’t have kids, but I can imagine how you must have felt. I’ve heard my friends and my sister talk about minor things as well. My sister had tubes put in her daughter’s ears and it was hard for her to go through even though my niece didn’t really notice anything had happened. A friend had tubes put in her son’s tear ducts and he wasn’t a year old yet. It was excruciating for her. As their godmother, I was worried for them even though I knew it was minor. I think the idea of seeing someone so small and who you love more than anything look so weak and fragile is the scariest thing.

I’m glad she made it through ok.
